Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption AssociationAlivia has been with her grandmother for 2 years now and is doing well. She has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder with related mental challenges that she does her best to manage and overcome. She visits Shriner's in St. Louis for some of her therapy needs. She entered an Art contest that they sponsored and she won first place for a poster against drug use! She is a very talented artist who can sit down and create a portrait on the spot. She struggles with textures and noise. She wears noise defenders (noise canceling headphones) at school to avoid overstimulation. She loves yard sales and shopping at thrift stores to find bargains. She reads books whenever possible and is very attached to her therapy cat.
Alivia is an avid reader and artist. A laptop would help her in completing her schoolwork online as well as provide her with activities and interaction she sometimes lacks due to issues with social situations and her health. She would love to be able to read books online and learn to type.
