Darnell plans on going to school (Fashion Institute of Technology) full time for Animation, Illustration, and Fine arts. He also plans to pursue a career in Voice Over work, as well as achieving an income from making music. His friends and anyone that he meets would tell you that he has had a natural affinity for creating and learning more about art. He usually spends my free time either drawing, playing video games, singing/ writing music, or discovering different kinds of places to meet fellow artists. Due to him growing up in the foster care system since birth, he had a very difficult time finding a place to truly call home. Making art has always given him an outlet for his feelings and emotions, which in some way has given him some form of solace at times where I felt that there wasn’t any.

By getting this grant from OneSimpleWish, Darnell plan to use the funds to help him achieve his goal of getting a bachelor’s degree for illustration and animation. He will use this grant to enroll in a portfolio building course at FIT and develop my portfolio so that he has a better chance to apply to become a full time student by next fall. This big wish will also help him find a mentor that would specialize in helping him develop his portfolio for his FIT application.
