Kassidy has been with her elderly grandparents since she was born and is a happy, healthy and thriving young lady. She is an excellent student and is active in sports. The neighbors have a horse and she has been learning to ride and helping them around their barn to earn extra riding time. She is active in church and enjoys helping in the nursery with the toddlers. She got to babysit a little over the summer to earn some money for sports equipment she needed. Her grandparents say she is a very mature and responsible young lady.

Sadly, this year, Christmas will be forever changed for Kasey and her grandparents. Her grandmother, Martha, has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, and will be beginning intensive treatments right after Thanksgiving. All of their Christmas traditions - picking out a tree, putting up decorations, baking cookies, shopping for presents and planning their big Christmas dinner - are all on hold while Martha begins the fight of her life. Kasey is trying to be strong, but this sudden, terrifying diagnosis has upended Kasey's childhood. Her grandparents came to One Simple Wish asking for some help to give Kasey a magical Christmas that she won't ever forget. They would love to take her to Dollywood for a family trip, finally set up a trampoline in their backyard, and get her as many Lego Sets her heart desires - all to try and take the heartache away of her grandmother's diagnosis.
