One Simple Wish FFY GroupKameryn’s time in foster care was difficult, and she struggled with mental health issues. Through it all, she knew she wanted more from life and was able to work hard in high school, graduate, and was the first in her family to enroll in college. Kameryn and her wife Savannah both aged out of care at 18, and met at a foster care reform conference. Kameryn has recently returned to college and will graduate with her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in humanities in 2022. She then hopes to apply to graduate school for social work and focus on becoming a medical social worker for geriatric patients residing in assisted living facilities.
Kameryn lost her job due to Covid, and she and her wife have struggled financially to recover from this loss. She then had Covid herself, which set her even further back in her employment search. Kameryn’s wish is for a one-time car payment so she and her wife can catch up on their bills and start the New Year with a clean slate. She has secured employment for January, so having her car loan in good standing will give her such peach of mind when she travels back and forth to her new job.
