From Jasmina: "Jasmina Nikolov spent seven years in foster care and aged out back when all the state gave you was a pat on the back and some thoughts and prayers. Although she was homeless and moved about twenty times during the first few years post-aging-out, she has since earned herself some stability. She recognizes her privilege as an anomaly which drives her commitment to mitigating inequality as a community catalyst. Her efforts range from spearheading an award-winning neighborhood tree-planting initiative, creating ResistDance to support grassroots political activism, chairing a diversity-education committee within a 20,000-member organization, developing and running a mentoring program, developing Miss Fix It NYC to empower women to do their own home improvement, to now working with One Simple Wish. In addition, Jasmina has over fifteen-years of experience as a real estate entrepreneur, a combined fourteen-years of expertise working with youth and adolescents, and a combined eight years in program management and development. She is currently in school and on track to finally finish her Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and Public Administration in January 2020. Jasmina is a devoted mother who builds potato bazookas, sews, and plays Dungeons and Dragons with her ten-year-old son. She is also a former semi-professional salsa dancer who enjoys dancing a when time allows. Jasmina looks forward to spreading joy to foster youth with One Simple Wish."

Jasmina has always wanted a beautiful, high quality, wool blanket but always allocates her money to "practical" and "necessary" items. Even when making the wish, she immediately tried to take it back because she worried that it would be taking away from another wish. However, this blanket is something Jasmina has always wanted. She said, " I get cold very easily. A soft, wool blanket would really warm me up! I also feel comforted with something weighty on me and this blanket is over 5 pounds." This blanket is very durable and high quality and is something that Jasmina would treasure forever.
