This summer, The Felix Organization will launch a new pilot Camp Felix program sending 12 to 15 young women, ages 14-18, from the New York City Foster Care system to the Berkshire Mountains of Connecticut for the experience of a lifetime! These young women reside in a residential facility operated by Good Shepherds Services, one of New York City’s largest child welfare agencies. Because of the instability of life in foster care, these youth are unlikely to have ever been given an opportunity to leave the hot summer streets of their neighborhoods. Felix is providing that opportunity! On August 7th, a charter bus will take the girls to the fabulous Club Getaway, New England’s premier sports and adventure resort. From swimming in the lake, team challenges, scavenger hunts, volleyball, softball, basketball, night hikes, pizza parties, campfires, karaoke and so much more, the girls will create memories to last a lifetime. By incorporating Camp Felix’s RESPECT values program, we will also promote personal growth, self-discovery and leadership building for these young women that will last them a lifetime. Please help us gift them special items that they can use at camp and keep for themselves when camp is over!
