A Barbie food truck for Jeryca to pretend play with her dolls

Department of Child Protection and Permanency

Jeryca is a really sweet girl and lives in a foster home with her older brother. She's a quiet, sensitive, and smart girl who has a heart of gold. Jeryca always puts the needs and feelings of others before her own. She loves helping out with the household chores and looks up to her older brother. Although Jeryca is a bit shy, she enjoys it when people pay attention to her. She takes pride in her appearance and loves it when people compliment her on how pretty she looks. Jeryca used to have a sheltered life and took on a parental role in her previous home, which made it a bit hard for her to transition to school. She found it hard to interact with her peers and preferred to be alone. Also, due to the sheltered lifestyle, Jeryca's speech needs went unmet. However, Jeryca has since developed an interest in female-centered toys, especially Barbie.

Jeryca is super excited about Christmas and her wish list includes the Barbie Fresh 'n Fun Food Truck Playset. She's really into Barbie toys lately and it's great because she can use them for role-playing, which is fantastic for improving language skills. Plus, playing with Barbie can also help boost her social skills, which she can then use in the classroom and feel more confident in her interpersonal interactions.
