Amira is a talented, social 16-year-old who cares deeply about her one-year-old daughter. Foster care has been particularly challenging for Amira, as she has been separated from her daughter and other family and friends. This separation for Amira has been challenging as she also adjusts to a new school. While adjusting to all the change, Amira remains committed to graduating high school and providing a bright future for her daughter. She loves basketball, which she is very talented at; and she enjoys encouraging and supporting other girls in her foster placement.

Amira loves staying connected with her daughter and other family and friends. Currently, Amira lives in a group foster home far from her daughter, family, and community. She does not have a phone, computer, or access to regular transportation to visit those she cares about. Amira would love a tablet so she can remain connected to her daughter and other family and friends while in foster care. The tablet will help her care for her daughter's needs by allowing her to schedule visits, participate in scheduling and attending medical appointments, and FaceTiming her. Additionally, she will be assisted in her studies and planning for the future.
