Mercer Reunification Services (MRUS) is designed to provide Supervised Visitation Services to consumers referred by the appropriate DCPP office. The program combines supervised visitation with parenting skills, case management, therapy, and reunification, when appropriate. MRUS seeks to assist children and families that are working toward reunification through offering basic skills to families and allowing supervised visits between the child(ren)/parent(s) to occur in a home-like setting, that Mercer Reunification Services (MRUS) is designed to provide Supervised Visitation Services to consumers referred by the appropriate DCPP office. MRUS seeks to assist children and families that are working toward reunification through offering basic skills to families and allowing supervised visits between the child(ren)/parent(s) to occur in a home-like setting, that fosters communication and family engagement. The program is designed to assist families in meeting the many needs and requirements being placed upon them by linking them to appropriate services, keeping in mind the theory of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs in a family centered environment. MRUS seeks to improve these families’ lives by helping to restore or develop social functioning by promoting positive parenting, strengthening the attachment between child/caregiver while improving the quality of time spent together, while seeking to avoid future incidents of abuse/neglect of children, and decreasing the amount of time that a child is spending in foster care.
